Myth Or Truth?

Last night, Mom called & asked me to avoid cutting fruits, vegetables, tearing things like paper etc during today's Partial Lunar Eclipse.
So I am finally there, a stage, about which I had heard a lot from friends & family - a pregnant woman, a Lunar Eclipse & its effects on the Foetus!

I googled to find some scientific evidence(apart from the fact that majority of pg gals do go into labour during a full moon)... my search is on & if you do know something, I am all ears!

Lets look@ what I found regarding certain superstitions.
A similarity of mindset does exist not only in Indian & Egyptian cultures but also among the Hispanics/Aztecs,Italian, German, Irish, Polish & Chinese communities.
Per Swaminarayan.org, a pregnant woman should never see an eclipse in the absence of a cloth in front of her eyes. One should observe a waterless fast while the actual eclipse is in progress. & one should bathe with one’s clothes on, immediately after the eclipse.

Certain superstitions are not just restricted to eclipses but go beyond. In China, whatever "year" you're born in; i.e. dog, tiger year(12 in total), if it's your year again, girls need to wear something red. Generally it's their underwear!
Per an article published in BBC, a pg woman should not touch her belly during a lunar eclipse, or she will cause the baby to be born with a birthmark.
As the Moon moves through its phases, it affects our emotions and moods- says this article.

I am pretty sure there are other resources available online...

My personal experience? Years ago, I remember pointing at a birthmark that one of my class mate had. It looked very much like a serrated knife run across ones skin. She had told me that her mother, while she was pregnant, had cut herself, while cutting vegetables to prepare dinner, during an eclipse!

Even though my logical mind rebels against believing in such tales & that this eclipse will NOT be visible throughout entire N.America , I am obeying my Mom's orders!
TD & I are having lunch @a restaurant!

:Madame Zaritska's Reading For Me:
"The day you deliver, outside will be cloudy. Your baby will arrive in the evening.
After a labor lasting approximately 2 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and will be 18 inches long. This child will have light brown eyes and some blond hair.

Hi there

My mum says that she uses a camera called a Canon Digital IXUS 30 and that it is usually on the automatic setting. She also says that it has 3.2 megapixels but I think you're right - I think the piccies are good because I'm so "adorable" (hee! hee!) Love, Holly xxx
